Executive Board for 2023/2024

JIRKA AMBROZ

PRESIDENT

Jirka and his husband Rasmus have two children at West Hollywood Elementary school Olivia in the 5th grade and Lukas, who is now in 4th grade. Both have been involved with the school over the last six years. Jirka has been active at the school since his children started and is excited about becoming the new President of FOWHE. While Jirka knows his kids will be moving on from the school shortly, Jirka would like to reestablish the sense of community that made the school so extraordinary before the pandemic. Jirka wants the new families to have the same great experiences his family enjoyed when they first started at West Hollywood Elementary. Hence, the school's great legacy carries on.

Jirka moved from the Czech Republic in 1998 and started Abacus IT - IT Managed Service Provider in 2002. Jirka and Rasmus met in 2003 and were married in 2014. Both enjoy traveling, active life, languages, and spending quality time with their family and friends here, in the Czech Republic and Denmark.

JESSE SLANSKY

VICE PRESIDENT

This is Jesse’s sixth year as part of the West Hollywood Elementary family. His daughter Amelia started in TK and is now (gulp!) in the 4th grade. His son Henry is in 2nd grade. Over the years, he has served in on the gala committee, as a room parent, and stop & drop coordinator, and now is happy to serve on the FOWHE board.

When not at WHE, Jesse leads a non-profit affordable housing developer, building homes and providing services that move people from insecurity to stability.

PETER GANDOLFO

COMMUNITY COMMITTEE CHAIR

Peter’s family first joined West Hollywood Elementary in Fall 2018, and since then he’s served as a FOWHE rep and a room parent. Matthew and Alec are now proud to be in 2nd grade and kindergarten, respectively. With a deep appreciation for the service of prior board members and volunteers, he’s excited to lead fundraising for FOWHE.

Beyond school, Peter is an executive coach and consultant. He and his husband Andrew enjoy traveling with the boys and making the most of everything Southern California has to offer, including the mountains and ocean, a thriving art community, and an underrated food scene.

DYLAN VOX-ROSEBERRRY

FUNDRAISING COMMITTEE CHAIR

With his magical daughter Fallon, this is Dylan’s first year at West Hollywood Elementary.  He is excited to join the board to help all children benefit from every opportunity we as parents can provide and to keep our school at an exceptional level. He is excited about working behind the scenes to help forge a place where our kids can grow, learn, and enjoy their early years.

Dylan is a recovering lawyer who now owns his own production company. Between entertaining Fallon with her ballet, gymnastics, soccer, and swim classes along with beach days, snail hunts and barbie tea parties, he manages to direct and produce film and television.

 LAURA MITZMAN

Laura and her family moved from London, England to Los Angeles in 2015. Her two daughters (who are 8 and 10 years old) have been at WEHO since April 2021, when they moved to West Hollywood from Studio City. Laura loves connecting with people and building community, so when she joined WEHO she restarted ‘Party Book’ to meet new families and help raise money for the school.

Laura is a Nutritional Therapist who loves to throw parties, play netball, hike, travel and try new restaurants!

This is Pia's first year at West Hollywood Elementary.  Born in Los Angeles (not far from the WHE campus), she is excited to raise her children in her hometown.  She and her husband, Jake, have two children: Josh, who started Kindergarten in the Fall, and Shayna, who just started preschool.  Pia is excited to be on the FOWHE board to help fundraise and build community friendships. He and Megan are longtime residents with their daughter Alessandra having started her journey through Kindergarten with Mrs. Parra. They look forward to making new friends through the classroom as well as with other parents throughout the year.

He runs a Financial Planning practice at the West LA office for Northwestern Mutual and is also the school liaison for Junior Achievement of Southern California. Part of his M.V.P. is to help kids & families create additional financial literacy. Tony also helps to coordinate the local Neighborhood Watch program and Emergency Action Committee. Have a great school year and make lots of wonderful memories.

ANNIE NEAL

COMMUNITY COMMITTEE CHAIR

This is Annie’s first year at West Hollywood Elementary. Annie started the year as Room Parent in her daughter Isla’s Kindergarten class and has also served as FOWHE rep. She is now very excited (and honored) to be serving on the FOWHE board.

Professionally, Annie has worked as a Television and Film writer.

Annie, her husband Cory and their daughter Isla love all things adventure, travel and animal related (including their three handsome rescue kitties!). They live walking distance to WHE and used to walk Isla by as a baby to watch the “big kids” go to school - so it’s a very special full circle moment for her to now be in Kindergarten here.
